Fern was opened by The Mother Earth Group in October of 2011, in the space previously inhabited by Something Classic Café. Fern was designed to create a comfortable and earthy atmosphere, using reclaimed barn wood for tables and baseboards, and sourcing our ingredients from the best farms in the area.
Over the years Fern has gained both local and national attention, being featured in The Charlotte Observer, Creative Loafing, Food & Wine, and Taste of the South, as well as being named one of Charlotte’s top 25 restaurants in 2013. Fern is also named Charlotte's Best Vegetarian Restaurant by Charlotte Magazine.
Fern focuses on plant-based and southern cuisine to create seasonal menus. With an emphasis on excellence, Fern is elevating the dining standard for Charlotte.
